Cooking Recipes – How to Make Crusty Cold Chicken With Five Dips

Crusty Cold Chicken Ingredients

Twelve chicken drumstick

Twelve chicken thighs

One cup butter or margarine

One one-half cups fine dry bread crumbs

One-half teaspoon dried leaf thyme

One-half dried leaf marjoram

One teaspoon rosemary

Two teaspoon paprika

Two teaspoon salt

One half teaspoon pepper

Three eggs

Three tablespoon dipping sauces (recipes follow) cold water


At first you need to thoroughly wash the chicken pieces and dry them well on paper toweling. Then you have to heat the oven to three hundred seventy five degrees Fahrenheit (or 190 degrees Celsius). After that, you put the one half cup (or 125ml) butter or margarine in each of the two large shallow baking pans that will hold the chicken pieces in a single layer. And then, you put the pans in the oven to melt the butter.

Following that, you have to combine the bread crumbs, the thyme, the marjoram, the rosemary, the paprika, the salt and the pepper in a large flat dish. Beat eggs and water together with a fork in another flat dish.

Next to that, you have to roll each chicken piece in the egg mixture then in the crumbs to coat it well and the put the pieces in the prepared pans, turning them over once in the butter. After that, try to place the chicken pieces so that they are not quite touching with each other.

And finally, you have to bake them for an hour or until they become tender and browned by turning the chicken pieces after the first 30 minutes. (If your oven won’t hold both pans at once, it won’t hurt to let one pan stand while the other is baking.) Last, you cool and chill it. Serve this with any or all of the following dips.

Leek Dip

One cup whipping cream

One one-half cups plain yogurt

One envelope leek soup mix

One-forth lb farmer’s (Colby) cheese, grated

Procedure: Whip the cream until the soft peaks form. Stir in the yogurt, and then dry the soup mix and the cheese. Chill.

Curried Cheese Dip

Eight-ounce package cream cheese (room temperature)

One-fourth cup commercial mayonnaise

Six-ounce plain yogurt

One table spoon curry powder

Two teaspoon finely grated onion

Pinch salt

Procedure: Combine the cheese, the mayonnaise and the yogurt. And then you beat them until this becomes smooth and well blended. Then, stir in the curry powder, the onion, and the salt. Chill this. Let this warm up a little before using as dip.

Onion Dip

One cup whipping cream

Twelve ounce plain yogurt

One envelope onion soup mix

Procedure: Whip the cream until the soft peaks form. Stir in the yogurt and the dry soup mix. Chill.

Dill Dip

One cup commercial sour cream

One half cup commercial mayonnaise

One table spoon dried dill weed


One table spoon snipped fresh dill

Procedure: you have to combine all the ingredients. Chill this.

Pineapple Dip

One cup pineapple jam

One fourth cup prepared mustard

One fourth cup prepared horseradish

One fourth table spoon ginger

Procedure: you have to combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and then heat this.
